Introduction

An Emalto Group Company, Emalto Mechanical Industry produces parts of metal frame and boiler shop segments for the metallurgical, steelworks, petrochemical, cellulose, mining, metallic construction, hydropower generation  sectors, among others. It is located in a 31,000-m2 area with a  17,000 m2 covered shed where is creates more than 350 jobs. It invests in state-of-the-art technology and quality and in the diversification of its products. From a regional company it has expanded to serve the domestic market.  

Nowadays it has two production sites with capacity to industrialize one thousand tons of steel per month.  
The company has adapted its production line to its new profile, aiming at providing services of machining and heavy equipment through the acquisition of MILLING MACHINES, BROACHING MACHINES, A FURNACE FOR THERMAL TREATMENT,  PRESSES and a 15,5-meter machinable diameter VERTICAL LATHE, the largest in the state of Minas Gerais.

Emalto was also the first company of the metal structure and boiler making segments to get Usiminas’ inspection-free certificate in 1996. The parts made by the company go straight to the construction site in order to be installed.

Furthermore, it was the only company in Minas Gerais state to obtain Voith Siemens’ certificate for performance, quality and delivery time with an “excellent” grade. The company’s top management is engaged in investing in the continuous improvement of its productive process, offering better results, reduced costs, shorter delivery  time and more satisfaction to its clients.

With the purpose of Protecting the Environment, Emalto has replaced sand blasting with steel shot in the process of eliminating steel oxidation in parts used for painting.

The history of the Company that has become Emalto Group started in the year 1974. At that time, Alexandre Torquetti retired after 23 years of work done at Companhia Aços Especiais Itabira (Itabira Special Steels Company) - Acesita.
